About our Antioch masonry and concrete company

Who we are, how we work and what to expect when you call us about a wall, chimney or path.

How I got into masonry in Antioch

I started out as a helper on a small masonry crew, mixing mortar and hauling block long before anyone let me lay a brick. The people I learned from had been doing this for decades, and they taught me to figure out why a wall failed before touching it.

In 2023 I opened Mastercraft Antioch Masonry and Concrete here in Antioch. We're a masonry contractor first, doing brick and mortar repair, chimneys, block and retaining walls, stone, walkways and pavers, and we pour concrete too. Most people call us when a wall, chimney or path is cracking and they want someone to tell them straight what it needs.

I still come out to look at every job myself, write the estimate and work alongside our crew when it gets built, so nothing gets lost between the quote and the wall. What I care about is simple. The work should hold up long after we leave, and you should hear the truth about what it needs.

How we handle your masonry job

These are the things you'll notice when you work with us, from the first look at your wall or chimney to the day our crew packs up.

A straight answer first

When I look at your wall, chimney or path, I tell you what it needs and what it doesn't. Sometimes that's a few cracked bricks and some fresh mortar, not a rebuild. You'll hear that from me, because a smaller job done right beats a big one you didn't need.

Fixing why it failed

Cracks and loose mortar usually have a cause, often water getting in behind the face or sitting at the base of a wall. We track that down before we patch anything, because new mortar over a leak that's still there just fails again, and that's your money wasted.

Licensed, with permits handled

We're licensed and insured. The state contractors board requires a license on any job that needs a building permit, uses extra workers, or runs $1,000 or more in labor and materials. When your job needs a permit, we pull it with the city or county and line up the inspections.

What to expect when you call us

Here's how a job goes with us, from your first call to the walk-through at the end. You'll see me at the estimate and on site while the work gets done.

  1. 1

    Call or send a message

Call (925) 503-1025 or use the contact form and tell us what you're seeing. We reply to every call and message within one business day, and most of the time it's me getting back to you.

  2. 2

    Get a written estimate

I come out, look at the job myself and work out what's causing the damage. The estimate is free, comes with no obligation and spells out in writing what we'll do and what we won't.

  3. 3

Let our crew do the work

If your job needs a permit, we pull it and schedule the inspections, or check with the right office first when it's unclear. Then our crew does the work, and I'm on site while it happens.

  4. 4

    Walk the finished job

We clean up and walk the finished job with you so you can see what was done. I'll tell you what to keep off fresh mortar or concrete while it sets. Satisfaction guaranteed on every job.
